A young child playing outside Sunday afternoon, April 2, was struck by a vehicle who left the scene, reports Bledsoe County Sheriff Jimmy Morris. The two-year-old child was found on US Highway 127 south, just north of the four-way, in front of its residence, and was taken to a Chattanooga medical facility for treatment.
Apparently the child, got out of its parents view and wondered near the busy roadway, said Sheriff Morris.
He said, the child suffered head trauma and multiple bruises and lacerations.The Tennessee Highway Patrol responded to the scene. Details of their investigation were not available Monday evening at press time.
