Winning “Outlast” contestant sharpened his skills at The Lab

It is like Alone and Hunger Games all wrapped up into one show, described Travis Smith with The Lab. He was talking about the new Netflix series, Outlast, with one of the first season’s winning contestants training at The Lab in Pikeville.

Paul Preece, from Knoxville, trained with Bobby Worthington, World Champion archer from Pikeville. Worthington does his indoor training at the facility and after meeting Preece knew he needed to help him improve his archery abilities.

Preece thought he was a good archer using a compound bow, even when he shot a recurve, but Worthington watched him shoot with a recurve and said Preece’s technique needed to be refined. He worked with Preece as he prepared to compete for the $1 million prize and survive.
