45 years of community service

A call came in one cold night in December, 1976, Greg Frazier’s trailer on Wheeler Mountain was on fire. The nearest fire department was Pikeville and by the time firefighters could arrive, the trailer was lost. That’s when Dennis “Big D” Frazier, Greg’s father, decided it was time for the Mt. Crest community to have a department. His vision came to fruition, and on July 9, 2022 the department celebrated its 45th anniversary of service.
