Vaccination hours expanded, no appointment necessary at fairgrounds

Those 18 and older seeking to receive a COVID-19 vaccine in Bledsoe County can now get their first dose without making an appointment, according to Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) Southeast Regional Director Glenn Czarnecki.

Czarnecki said anyone 18 and older can show up at the Bledsoe County Fairgrounds on Allen P. Deakins Road beginning immediately from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday to receive their first dose of the Moderna vaccine. He added appointments are still necessary for the second dose of the vaccine.

Tennesseans 16 and older are eligible for the vaccine, but the Moderna vaccine being distributed locally has not yet been approved for those 16 and 17.

To make an appointment for your second dose, visit vaccinate.tn.gov and click the blue “Proceed to COVID-19 questionnaire” button at the bottom of the page to start your registration. You can also make an appointment by phone through the Bledsoe County Health Department at 423-447-2149.
