Pikeville woman loses life in accident

A Pikeville woman lost her life in a single-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 127 south of Pikeville near Hubbard on Thursday evening, January 28. 

Sandra Ann Angel, 53, was traveling northbound on U.S. 127 when her vehicle exited the right side of the roadway and struck a culvert, according to a preliminary report provided by Public Information Officer Lt. John Harmon with the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP). 

According to the report, the vehicle flipped end over end. She was not wearing a seatbelt, which would have made a difference, according to the THP report.
