Low risk Halloween activities suggested by City officials

Halloween 2020 will likely look different for many people this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that has changed so much of the way the world lives, with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommending lower risk activities at home or from a distance.

The City of Pikeville is following CDC guidelines in recommending people find alternate ways to celebrate the spooky season this year, according to Pikeville Mayor Philip Cagle.

The CDC recommends avoiding higher risk activities to help prevent the spread of the virus that causes COVID-19 and for people who have been exposed or tested positive for COVID-19 and those with underlying conditions to stay home.
