Inmate with coronavirus at BCCX dies
An 78-year-old inmate at Bledsoe County Correctional Complex (BCCX) who was positive for coronavirus has died, according to the Tennessee Department of Correction East Region Spokesman Robert Reburn. He died on Thursday, May 7, Reburn added, and the exact cause of his death is pending official determination from the medical examiner.
Five other inmates at BCCX have active coronavirus cases. One of those was previously hospitalized but has since recovered, Reburn said. This is the second Tennessee inmate who tested positive for the virus to die, after TDOC announced another man from Trousdale Turner Correctional Center died on Monday.
