Six active coronavirus cases, 580 recovered at BCCX

The Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) announced Thursday, May 7, 580 of 586 inmates who tested positive for the coronavirus at Bledsoe County Correctional Complex (BCCX) have recovered and been reintroduced into the general prison population. The agency lists six active cases and three pending test results.

Of the six remaining cases, two are hospitalized and four are asymptomatic but will remain in isolation, according to TDOC.

Bledsoe County’s total coronavirus case count is 602, according to the Tennessee Department of Health. The agency only lists 25 recovered in the County as of May 7, not yet reflective of recovered inmate data at BCCX.

A total of 3,092 tests among Bledsoe residents, including 1,730 inmates, have come back negative as of May 7.
