Studio session in progress
In the early 1970s, Chris Schultz had a hobby of recording music with his own 4-track analog recording studio in Maryville. After retiring from a career in stone imports and moving to Pikeville, Schultz is again working on his hobby in a big way with the creation of Schultz Recording Studios in the Sequatchie Valley this summer.
Schultz closed up his Maryville studio in the 70s after he decided he needed to “get a real job.” He then moved from the Knoxville area to Atlanta and went into the stone business, opening a marble and granite import company, which he ran until his retirement in 2017.
