Residents give opinion on privatizing emergency services

In a special called meeting of the Bledsoe County Commission in which Puckett EMS was set to give a presentation about privatizing local emergency services— the company did not present any proposals to the commission, after being asked not to speak by County Mayor Gregg Ridley. Rather, county officials heard from several local residents about how they want to keep the current service as is.

Mayor Ridley and Commission Chairman Craig Mercer said after publicizing the meeting notice and agenda, which listed a presentation by Puckett EMS, they agreed they “didn’t need to make a decision” before hearing from the public.
