Commissioner McCord hosts town hall in Bledsoe County

State and local officials gathered with members of the public last Wednesday, May 22 for a town hall meeting with Jeff McCord, recently appointed Commissioner for the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD).

Mayor Gregg Ridley started the meeting off stating nearly 15,000 residents in the county only 895 people live and work here, a good indication of the county being labeled as “distressed.” Ridley added it is estimated 3,047 commute outside of the county for work.
