Reality check: don’t drive intoxicated

Bledsoe County High School students were given a major dose of reality on Friday, April 5, as they participated in a mock Driving Under the Influence (DUI) program that lasted throughout the day.

Before the school bell rang in the afternoon, they witnessed a reenactment of a DUI incident in which two of their classmates were killed and one prosecuted. Students also witnessed two funeral ceremonies for their deceased classmates.

In between scenes of the drama that unfolded between their classmates, students heard from people who have lost loved ones in real-life DUI accidents.

For more on the mock DUI, see the April 11 issue of The Bledsonian-Banner.

Thank you for doing this I have three granddaughters going to prom next week. Hopefully they will always make the right choices but if not they are in God’s hands.
