Alberta Maxine Blankenship Hickey, 88 of Pikeville, Tennessee went home to Jesus Wednesday, December 19, 2018.
Maxine assumed duties of a pastor’s wife very well for over 50 years and was a lifetime member of Sampson Freewill Baptist Church. She loved her family, flowers, enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, traveling, cooking, feeding people, and spending time with friends.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Ruby Frady Blankenship; sisters, Naomi Hillis and Clara Mae Jolly; grandson-in-law, Marty Mooneyham.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Leslie Pleasant Hickey; son, Terry (Fadonna) Hickey; daughters, Linda Singleton (Robbie), Rhonda (Gene) Dodson, Karen Hickey (Ron), Margie Hankins (Jimmy), Charlotte (Tim) Hart; sister, Jean Johnson; aunt, Ruth Oakes Essex; 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; huge church family, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
A celebration of life was held at noon on Saturday, December 22, in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Bill Montandon and Bro. Wayne Sullivan officiating. Burial was in Blankenship Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude.
