Strong to severe storms possible tonight, tomorrow

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Morristown is advising strong to severe thunderstorms are expected tonight, July 20, near or after 7:00 p.m. The strongest storms are expected to move into the area around midnight and Saturday morning. NWS forecasts storms are possible again throughout Saturday and into the evening.

“Damaging winds, large hail, and lightning will be the main threats with the storms,” the NWS advises. “An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out, particularly across southern portions of the Tennessee Valley. Remain weather aware and have a reliable source for potential warnings.”
