A Rhea County Judge has bound the man accused of making Threats of Mass Violence on School Property to the Grand Jury for possible indictment.
Cole Bryant, of Dunlap, reportedly made threats on social media after he was denied access to student records concerning an alleged incident between his fiance’s 4-year-old daughter and a 4-year-old boy at the school. The young boy had allegedly touched the girl inappropriately, according to earlier reports by the Bledsoe County Sheriff’s Department.
Due to Bledsoe County General Sessions Judge Howard Upchurch’s relationship to the Bledsoe County Board of Education as their attorney, he could not hear the case. It was moved to Rhea County and on June 9, the Rhea County General Sessions Judge ordered the case be presented to the Grand Jury.
According to Bledsoe County Circuit Court Clerk Michael Walker, Bryant’s case will be presented to the Grand Jury on July 27 for possible indictment with their findings being released on July 31.
