Pikeville native, Dr. Kenneth “Ken” E. Angel, plans to celebrate the release of his book on his 60th birthday in his hometown. The Bledsoe County Public Library is hosting Dr. Angel’s book signing on Tuesday, July 21 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
His book, Paused: The Pause that Refreshes, evolved from his experience in the spring of 2020 when as he says “the world stopped.” He said he drew from a sermon series during the pandemic and grounded in twin themes of Rest (Psalm 62:8) and Repentance (Acts 3:19). PAUSED reveals the pause was not punishment but provision – not the end of God’s plan but the fulfillment.
“The pause was not a break in God’s plan,” said Dr. Angel. “It was the plan.”
In his book he invites the readers to see the disruptions of 2020 not as tragedy alone but as the means by which God renewed, refined, and realigned His people.
Dr. Angel was born July 21, 1966, the son of Nath and Joyce (Hale) Angel.
He serves as the President of Practical Ministry Solutions, Inc. in Pryor, Oklahoma, a company he founded in 2015 which is a coaching and consulting ministry dedicated to training, mentoring, and equipping pastors and ministry leaders nationwide.
As a Certified Church Consultant, he has guided congregations through growth, revitalization, and challenging transitions. He has helped churches rediscover vision, build ministry teams, and move forward with clarity and purpose.
Dr. Angel serves as the Regional Evangelist for the Heartland Region Church of God, carrying a deep burden for spiritual renewal in the local church.
He believes what most churches need isn’t a new program, but a fresh encounter with God.
He has over 38 years of pastoral leadership experiences and is recognized for his spirit-empowered preaching. He has an unique ability to translate complex theological truths into practical, everyday living. Dr. Angel is ordained in the Church of God, holds a Doctor of Ministry degree in Theology and is dedicated to equipping the next generation of ministry leaders.
