Jonathan Eric Hale “The Legend”

Jonathan Eric Hale ”The Legend”, 59, of Pikeville, Tennessee passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 21, 2026.

Jon was a life-long resident of Bledsoe County and worked for W.A. Kendall Vegetation in the Dayton area for four years.Jonathan was of the Baptist Faith. Jonathan was the life of the party always laughing and cutting up with everyone he met as he never met a stranger. Jon was loving and kind. He loved music and loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. Jonathan was also known as Bo to some.

Jon is preceded in death by his parents, J E and Aileen Smith Hale; maternal grandparents, Litton and Duel Hankins Smith; paternal grandparents, Sam and Ruby Griffith Hale; his beloved pet, Charlie; several uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Jon is survived by his wife, Michelle Lively Hale; daughter, Kelby (Josh) Burgess; son, Eric (Desiree) Hale; grandchildren, Hylie, Barrett, and Luke Burgess, Macelynn Hale; sister, Barbara (Robbie) Ellison; brother, Donathan (Michelle) Hale; wonderful uncle, Lewis (Kathy) Hale; special Aunt, Dorthea Burgess; second mothers, Aunt Ina Pearl Smith and Imogene Smith; his fur babies, Luna, Biggin, and Nuggett; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and a host of special cousins most like brothers and sisters; and a host of friends.

A celebration of life was held at 3:00 p.m. CDT Sunday, June 28, in the Pikeville Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wayne Sullivan and Pastor Mike Grace officiating. Burial was in Seals Cemetery. The family received friends from noon to 9:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27, and noon until service time Sunday at Pikeville Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pikeville Funeral Home to help with final expenses.
