Temperatures dropped into single digits as rain, freezing rain, and snow fell across the Sequatchie Valley, Cumberland Plateau and Walden’s Ridge over the weekend. Schools closed Monday and Tuesday, January 26-27 due to icy road conditions. Many businesses closed Monday or opened later in the day.
Despite the bitter cold, Billy Joe Brown of Pikeville, ventured out to Fall Creek Falls State Park and took this breathtaking frozen view of Fall Creek Falls spilling into the basin with ice and snow covered trees providing a beautiful wintry scene.
