Thunder Mountain Acres offers unique experience for free

Nestled in the Sequatchie Valley, at 2650 College Station Crossroads, is a beautiful farm known as Thunder Mountain Acres. Not your typical livestock farm found in Bledsoe County. Instead, it is an alpaca farm that is adding reindeer “in training” just in time for the Christmas season.

Lori Tanner and Mike Braunschweiger retired to the valley after searching for property where they could have animals and experience all four seasons. Lori had grown up on a dairy farm and wanted to get back into having animals after retiring from a university, and her husband, Mike, was looking for an adventure after retiring from human resources with Miller Brewing Company. They have family in the Knoxville and Crossville area, and that is where they met local realtor, Billy Joe Brown, who sold them on 115 acres in Bledsoe County to raise alpacas.
