Carolyn Ann (Hale) Curtis

Carolyn Ann (Hale) Curtis passed away peacefully in her home on December 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Joseph Aaron Curtis, and Joe’s children Deborah, Joe, and Penny, along with their children and grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Thomas Wayne Hale (Carolyn); her stepson, Keith Turner; her niece, Annie Hale Swansbrough (Jimmy); and their children, Wynton and Hollis.

Carolyn spent her life in service to others. She was a nurse at Bledsoe Co Hospital, Bledsoe Nursing Home, Cumberland Clinic Foundation, Cumberland Medical Center, and Taft Youth Center (State of TN). One of her greatest joys throughout her life was caring for her nieces and great grandchildren.

She and Joe also enjoyed spending time at the Senior Citizens Center where Carolyn served on the board. During the summer months, you could find Carolyn in her garden or canning in her kitchen, while during the winter months she spent her time hand quilting many of her numerous quilts she gifted to loved ones.

Graveside services were held at Collier Cemetery on December 16, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Salvation Army.
