Jon August Daschke

Jon August Daschke, 63, of Pikeville, Tennessee, died October 9, 2022.

Jon served in the United States Marine Corps, and was a truck driver for 17 years working with Crete Carriers for the last 10 years. He enjoyed metal detecting, arrowhead hunting, fishing, and to end a day eating and relaxing with a glass of ice cold sweet tea.  

Preceding Jon in death were his parents, James Edward and Shirley Doreen Wilson Daschke; sister, Roberta Brown; great-niece, Julia Pierce; and great-nephew Warren Watson.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his brothers, Richard (Rumiko) Daschke; Tom (Cindy) Daschke; sisters, Laurie Martillaro, Lorna (Jim) Lee, Margaret (Steve) Thurman; special friend, Melissa Smotherman Morris; step-daughters, Mary Ann Smith and Priscilla Cagle; step-granddaughters, Jacaqueline Campbell and Diamond Kinary; step-great-granddaughter, Athena Kinary;  numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

A celebration of life was held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13, in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Shane Nivens and Bro. Steve Taylor officiating. Burial was in Collier Cemetery. The family received friends 4:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, at the funeral home.
