Lawton Lewis Brown, Sr.

Lawton Lewis Brown, Sr. age 80 of Smithville, Tennessee, died Friday, December 18, 2020, at Tri-Star Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

He was born November 08, 1940, in Pikeville, Tennessee, was a veteran and served his country in the U.S. Army, and was a member of the Earleyville Church of Christ. He retired from a supervisory position with AVCO, has previously worked at Powermatic, owned N & L machine shop, and was a partner with his close friend Robin Phillips. He enjoyed cattle, farming, golfing, bowling, and putting puzzles together.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents Marshall Thomas and Leatha Beulah Hancock Brown, wives Carolyn Johnson and Stella Nadene Cummings Brown, son Lawton Lewis Brown, Jr., sisters Angelee Crawford and Geraldine Hughes Nichols, and brothers Thomas Brown, Edward Brown, and Wendell Brown.

Survivors include his children Gordon Lewis (Debra) Brown, Carol (Paul) Bell, Teresa Brown (Delaney) Snook, and Tim Brown, brothers Ralph Brown and Richard Brown; grandchildren Crystal Harris, Wesley (Celestial) Brown, Matt (Ashlee) Brown, Patrick (Danielle) Turner, Brian (Liz) Turner, Christopher (Sarah) Turner, Joshua (Chrissy) Bell, Jamisen (Danielle) Jones, Zachary (Alley) Jones, Blake (Leandra) Snook, and Clayton Snook; 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral service were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23, in the funeral home chapel. Robin Phillips will officiate. Interment will follow at Gath Cemetery.
