Clarence Paul Burgess

Clarence Paul Burgess, 77, of Pikeville, Tennessee died December 19, 2020.

Clarence was a 1962 graduate of Bledsoe County High School, worked for Dr. Tom Cranwell doing farm work and also working with him at the clinic. He also worked as a truck driver with Combustion Engineering for 32 years. He attended Pikeville Church of God, enjoyed gardening, loved hammers and chain saws. Clarence loved spending time at the cabin and fishing with the grandkids.

Preceding Clarence in death were his parents, William Matthew Blaine Mayhew and Julia Iola Brock Burgess; daughter, Marie Wooten; half-brothers, Clark Troglin and Everett Burgess; half-sisters, Molly, Dolly, and Henrietta Burgess.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of 54 years, Brenda Lee Brown Burgess; son, Kevin (Christie) Burgess;  daughter, Frankie Burgess (David) Eaton; sisters, Ruth Smith and Mary Brock; grandchildren, Michelle (Cody) Layman, Tiffany (Ryan) Ziegler, Maria Eaton, Kevin (Courtney) Burgess, II, Joshua (Kelby) Burgess, Patrick (Savannah) Burgess; 12 great-grandchildren; special nephew, Claude Phillip Smith, Jr.; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

A celebration of life was held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 22, in the funeral home chapel with Bro. James Dunn officiating. Burial was in Worthington Cemetery.
