Suspect crashes after pursuit Monday evening, two patrol cars damaged

A police pursuit along U.S. Highway 127 involving a stolen vehicle ended in a crash in Lee Station on Monday evening, August 31, according to Bledsoe County Sheriff’s Department Detective George Hodge.

Additionally, two patrol cars were damaged in the pursuit, one after striking a tree on Harvey Lewis Road and Hodge’s own vehicle when the suspect crashed in Lee Station. Det. Hodge said he and the other officer were both uninjured.

The suspect is Allen Johnson, who was transported to the emergency room following the crash. He was still in the hospital as of Tuesday morning, September 1, and had not yet been booked into the Bledsoe County Detention Center.

Det. Hodge said the pursuit began on the U.S. 127 bypass, traveling to the Nine Mile community where Johnson turned on Harvey Lewis Road and back out onto Highway 127 before being chased southward to Lee Station and crashing.
