A flash flood watch is in effect for Bledsoe and surrounding counties through late Thursday night, February 6, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Morristown.
NWS expects more heavy rainfall on top of what has already occurred in the area today. Another round of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms is expected Wednesday evening into Thursday.
Rainfall totals are expected from 2 to 4 inches, with higher amounts in isolated areas. NWS estimates 2-3 inches of rain have already fallen as of Wednesday afternoon.
The agency recommends avoiding low lying areas, be careful when approaching highway dips and underpasses, and to ever attempt driving across a flooded road. Turn around, don’t drown!
