James Stanley “Buddy” Harris, 80, of Pikeville passed away on February 28, 2015.
He was a brick mason by trade. He loved to watch football and listen to the Edmons family play Bluegrass.
He was born in Chattanooga on April 27, 1934 to the late, George W. (Ethel) Harris.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenna Harris; his aforementioned parents; and two granddaughters, Ashley Chastain and Lauren Elizabeth Harris.
Left behind to cherish Buddy’s life are his sons, Max Harris, Mitch (Sophie) Harris, and Mike Harris; daughters, Patsy (Tommy) Whittemore, Tina (Jeff) Chastain; step-sons, Ernest (Susan) Kilgore, Dennis Kilgore, and Doug (Mary) Kilgore; step-daughters, Stella (Cliff) Hale, Pat (Sammy) Mills, and Annette Kilgore; grandchildren, Casey (Greg) Wilson, Bailee Chastain and her fiancé Josh Barrett, Adam (Marsie) Whittemore, Angel (Jonathan) Funderburk, Jaime Whittemore, Jody (Dedra) Whittemore, Brett (Amanda) Whittemore, Cody Harris, Corey Szczepanik, and Michael Harris; and 20 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Buddy’s Life was held on Tuesday March 3, at 11:00 a.m. Burial was in the Blackburn Cemetery.
The family wants to express their gratitude to Erlanger Hospital with special thanks to nurses’ Kendra and Kris and Dr. Shome and Dr. Singh.
