Wanda Bernice Godsey
Wanda Bernice Godsey, 62, died Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. Born in Bledsoe County, Godsey was the daughter of the late John Howard and Lenis C. Thurman Hughes. A home-maker, she was a graduate of Bledsoe County High School and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by a son Joey Godsey; brothers Homer, Donnie and Henry Clay Hughes; and a sister Dorothy Blaylock.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years Wayne Godsey of Spring City; daughters Virginia (Mike Robinson) Godsey of Ten Mile and Annette (Joe) Dur-ham of Spring City; sons Tim (Ginger) Godsey of Chicka-mauga, Georgia, Charlie (Jessica) Godsey of Decatur, Shaun (Brittany) Godsey of Spring City, Adam (Sum-mer) Godsey of Dayton and Bryan Godsey of Spring City; brother Junior Hughes of Ten Mile; sisters Vernie Jordan and Darlene Pelfrey both of Spring City, and Carolyn Hughes and Brenda Williams both of Evensville; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held April 14 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Neal Pillion officiating. Interment was held in Hughes Cemetery in Bledsoe County.
Arrangements were made by Vaughn Funeral Home in Spring City.
