Dorothy Dotson

    Dorothy Akiens Dotson, 65, of Pikeville passed away Saturday April 4, 2009. She was of the Baptist faith. She worked at Robinson Manufacturing as a sewing op-erator.
    She was preceded in death by her parents Posy and Nannie Akiens; son James Michael Reed; brothers Gordon, Norman, and Carl Akiens.
    She is survived and will be missed by her husband, Isiah Dotson; sons Mance Franklin Reed of Murfreesboro, Ricky (Sabra) Reed of Soddy Daisy; daughter Lisa Ann Reed of Pikeville; brothers Thomas (Jean) Akiens of Pikeville and Johnny (Peggy) Akiens of Murfreesboro, sisters Mattie Soloman of Soddy Daisy, Flo Ann and Margaret Akins, both of Pikeville; step-children Holley Dotson, Theresa (Mike) Hutcheson, Anthony Dotson, and Alice Angel all of Pikeville, Corena Dotson of Dunlap, Michael (Debbie) Dotson of Madison, Alabama, Sherry (Larry) Muncey of Knoxville, 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and two very special nieces Nan-nie Kay Gravette and Susie Stephens both of Soddy Daisy.
    Services were held in the funeral home chapel April 6 with Bro. Jason Lewis and Bro. Ronny Colvard offici-ating. Burial was in Collier Cemetery.
