The life of a Tennessee man was lost in a head-on collision Wednesday, July 22, near the recycling center on US Highway 127 south of Pikeville, according to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
The accident victim, Dale A. Ladd, 58, was traveling south on US 127 near Cabin Road, when his 2016 Dodge Caravan crossed the center line, states the report. The Caravan struck a 2011 Ford F-150 pickup traveling north on US 127, the THP states.
The driver of the pickup, Hunter R. Eldridge, 23, of Pikeville was seriously injured in the wreck, states the report, and was taken to Chattanooga for treatment.
It was noted in the report, both men were wearing their seat belts. No charges are pending in the wreck.
The roadway was closed for a period of about five hours and traffic diverted as authorities worked the accident scene.
