Have you got your fair entries ready? Are you ready for great entertainment from music to ATV racers to rodeo riders?
The Bledsoe County Fair is being held August 1-8 at the Fairgrounds and Exhibit Hall on Allen P. Deakins Road in Pikeville.
The entertainment starts Saturday, August 1 with Race TN Series: ATV Racing at 6:00 p.m. Bring your family and friends out for one of the fair’s main events. Gate entry is $10 per person, children five and under are admitted free.
Fair entries will be accepted Sunday, August 2 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Exhibit Hall. Pick out your best home prepared canned goods, photos, flowers, handicrafts and more to enter for ribbons and cash prizes. The first livestock show is Monday, August 3, at 6:00 p.m. featuring cattle. Tuesday, August 4 is the show for pigs at 7:00 p.m., with sheep and goats shown on Thursday, August 6 at 7:00 p.m.
Special Needs day is Tuesday, March 4. Later that day is the Century Farms and Sponsorship Reception Dinner at 5:00 p.m. The opening ceremony is at 6:00 p.m.
Live demonstrations are nightly at 6:00 p.m. except on Wednesday evening. The chicken and rabbit show starts at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, followed by Chris Hennessee providing musical entertainment at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday’s gate fee is $5 per person with children five and under admitted free.
Wednesday, August 5 is packed with events starting with Senior Day at 9:00 a.m., Gospel Youth Night at 6:00 p.m. with CF of Pikeville’s Worship Team and Pastor Tyler Sterban with Different Church. Kids and youth games are at 8:00 p.m. No gate fee is charged for Wednesday only.
The 4-H Chick Chain Show and Sale is at 5:00 p.m. and the Pet Show is at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 6. Some local entertainers will be providing the music including Eli Tabor on the stage at 6:00 p.m., and The Kinship Band at 7:15 p.m. Card game night starts at 7:30 p.m. Thursday’s gate fee is $5, with children five and under admitted free.
Friday evening, August 7, starts off with line dancing from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m.
The gate fee for Friday and Saturday evenings is $15 per person, $5 for students 6 to 12 years old, and children five an under are admitted free with the main event, Outlaw Rodeo. Bucking Broncs, bull riders, barrel racers, clowns and roping are going to be in action in the fairground arena.
The exhibit hall is open August 4-8 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Fox Creek Amusements will have their carnival rides for all ages the evenings of August 4-8. Wristbands will be available for purchase to ride the rides.
