Clara “Peggy” Lane Smith
Clara “Peggy” Lane Smith, 76 of Pikeville, Tennessee died Tuesday, June 10, 2025 with her loving family by her side.
She loved her family and was a hard worker. Peggy worked for Robinson Manufacturing in the sewing department and was the friendly cashier at the Dollar General Store. Peggy will be missed by all who knew her.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Alva Clyde and Willie Grace Worthington Lane; daughter, Donna Gail Smith; brother, Ronny “Buster” Lane; sisters, Sara Brown and Georgia Ables.
Left to cherish Peggy’s memories are her husband of 56 years, Claude Smith, Jr.; son, Billy (Nicole) Smith; daughter, Tracie (Jason) Yother; grandchildren, Haylyn, Matthew, Hannah, and Harper; brothers, Hayward (Shirley) Lane, Phillip Lane, Larry Lane, Gary Lane, and Troy Lane; sisters-in-law, Brenda (Lonnie) Brandt and Frances Christian; children they loved as their own, Corey (Nicole) McCloud, Alyssa (Leah) Russell, and Dillyn Keith; grandchildren they loved as their own, Jesse, Elijah, and Noah; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
A celebration of Peggy’s life was held at 1:00 p.m. CDT Friday, June 13, in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Dennis Smith and Bro. Greg Smart officiating. Burial was in Humble Cemetery. The family received friends 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 12, and 9:00 a.m. Friday until service time at funeral home.
