Irene Hankins Mooneyham

Irene Hankins Mooneyham, 78, of Pikeville, Tennessee went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 1, 2024 after a long battle with an illness.
She was born and raised in Bledsoe County and was of the Freewill Baptist faith. She loved her family, church, and Gospel music. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be missed by all.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Virgie Lewis Hankins; brothers, DE, David, Jonah, JC “Jake,” Landell, Walter, and Stevie Hankins; sisters, Mary Lue Hankins McClendon, Jewel Hankins Wyatt, Velma Ruth and Anna Ruth Hankins, and great-grandchild Evelyn Marie.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny Mooneyham; children, Billy (Rachel) Mooneyham and Penny Stokes; grandchildren, Erica (Jonathan) Guinn, Andrew Clark, McKenna Mooneyham, BreeAnn Stokes, and Tucker Mooneyham; great-grandchildren, Joshua and Avery Guinn and Rowan Shefer; sister, Jewelene Vineyard; brothers, JD and Jerry (Bobbie) Hankins; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

A celebration of life was held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 5, in the funeral home chapel with her Bro. Wayne Sullivan officiating.  Burial followed in Blackburn Cemetery.  The family received friends Monday, November 4, at the funeral home.
