    Pre-K registration planned

    Pre-K registration in Bledsoe County will be held Wednesday, April 3 at Cecil B. Rigsby Elementary; Thursday, April 4 at Mary V. Wheeler Elementary; and Friday, April 5 at Pikeville Elementary from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. each day. Children must be four years old by August 15, 2019. The following are needed to register: proof of residency (electric, gas or water bill in parent’s/guardian’s name), certified copy of birth certificate, immunization record, record of physical, Social Security card and proof of income. If documents cannot be obtained by registration dates, children can still be registered. Only Bledsoe County residents are eligible to apply. For more information, call 447-2914.B10S11

    Representatives with Legal Aid of East Tennessee (LAET) are going to be at the Bledsoe County Courthouse on Tuesday, April 16 at 11:00 a.m. to conduct local client intake interview sessions in Pikeville. If you have civil legal problems with housing, consumer, veteran’s benefits and government benefits issues such as food stamps, unemployment benefits and TennCare, and qualify for free legal assistance, you can apply for help.     Bake sale at nursing home

    The Bledsoe County Nursing Home Activities Department is hosting a fundraising bake sale on April 18 in the Nursing Home dining room from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or until all baked goods are gone.     Clothes closet scheduled

    On Saturday, April 20 Winesap Free Will Baptist Church will open its clothes closet from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The clothes closet will be open every first and third Saturday of each month until further notice. Anyone needing clothes or who knows someone who does can come by at this time. The church will have nice clothes for work, play and dress of all sizes at no charge. The church is located on Lantana Road (Hwy. 101) at the Bledsoe-Cumberland county line.
