Aquatic Weed Management, Fish Sampling Demonstration and Stocking Rates, Pond Sealing Options, and Conservation Programs are the topics to be discussed.     On Saturday, November 3, the Luminary-Frostbite Volunteer Fire Department is having its first Saturday fried chicken fund raising lunch at the fire hall  located at 13002 Summer City Road in Spring City. Dine-in or carry-out available. The event is hosted by the Bledsoe County Republican Women’s Club and proceeds benefit the annual high school scholarship fund.     Those who know of Bledsoe County children in need of Christmas can start calling the Bledsoe County Sheriff’s Department’s Christmas Toy Drive on November 12 at (423) 447-2197 ext. 450. Call-ins will not be accepted after December 10 for the toy drive. Be sure to leave the child’s age, gender, and address with a good working telephone number when you call.

    If anyone wants to make a monetary donation please make checks payable to the Bledsoe County Christmas Fund. If you wish to donate canned goods, please bring them to the jail before December 10. The toys and food boxes will be delivered on December 17-18.B45S46

    Recently, authorities seized numerous cats and dogs from a residence in Sequatchie County. Many of the animals have been placed in homes, but several remain at the former zipper factory in Dunlap. Volunteers are needed to help take care of the animals by socializing the pets, cleaning cages and walking dogs.
