    Chamber sponsors Fall Fest Scarecrow Contest

    The Pikeville-Bledsoe County Chamber of Commerce invites all Bledsoe County businesses to participate in the Fall Festival Scarecrow Contest. All entries need to be taken to the Pikeville Farmers Market by Wednesday, October 3 for judging. The winning business will be awarded with a Fall Festival trophy and the Chamber will feature the winner in The Bledsonian-Banner.     Monthly meeting for Senior Citizens Center

    The Bledsoe County Senior Citizens Center is holding its monthly meeting on Wednesday, October 3 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a covered dish lunch by the members. This represents a permanent change from the second Wednesday of the month to the first Wednesday of the month, noted Center President Alvin B. Weston.BS40

    The University of Tennessee Extension Bledsoe County and the Tennessee Department of Agriculture is having a TAEP FY2018-2019 Sign-Up Day on Thursday, October 4, at the UT Extension Bledsoe County office from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. UT Extension staff and TDA are going to be present to help producers fill out applications. They will be conducting Beef Quality Assurance Certification for those who need it. Please call or come by for more information.     Fall Festival Golf Tournament

    The Pikeville-Bledsoe County Chamber of Commerce invites you to compete in the second annual Fall Festival Golf Tournament being held Friday, October 5 at Fall Creek Falls State Park. Shotgun start is 8:00 a.m.  for this four-person scramble. You could win $10,000 for a hole in one, sponsored by Matt Massengille with Farm Bureau. Prizes for closest to the pin, longest drive, and longest putt. There are two flights with first, second and third place awards given in each flight. Entry is $300 per team, and hole sponsors are $100 each. Mulligans can be purchased at the course. The day includes lunch at the golf course immediately following the round.
