    SETHRA to distribute commodities

    The Southeast Tennessee Human Resource Agency will be distributing USDA commodities to eligible Bledsoe County residents on Friday, December 1, 2017, from Noon – 4 pm at the Bledsoe County Fairgrounds.  You must be signed up in order to receive commodities on this day. You can call the office at 447-2444 to make an appointment to get a card until Wednesday, November 22, 2017. All you have to provide is proof of income for all household members or proof of category eligibility to get your commodity card.

    Eligibility will be based on total household income not in excess of the State-established maximum percentage of the poverty line for the appropriate household size or category eligibility or category eligibility.

    In accordance with Federal law and USDA policy, SETHRA is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.

    PTO Basketball sign-ups underway at Wheeler

    Wheeler Elementary’s PTO Basketball is getting ready for another season. Sign-ups have started and participant forms are available at Wheeler, Bledsoe County Middle School, Bledsoe County High School or one may be downloaded by visiting Wheeler Elementary’s website. The cost is $25 for the first child and $20 for each additional child in the household. All forms must be turned in by December 1.

    Country dinner at Luminary Frostbite Dept.

    Come celebrate the Christmas season and make this the best Christmas ever for someone on December 2 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. EST at the Luminary Frostbite Volunteer Fire Department. Enjoy a great home-cooked country dinner and good fellowship. The drawing for the $500 Academy Sports gift card will be done at 1:00 p.m. You do not have to be present to win.     The Chancel Choir to present Christmas Concert

    Lee Station Church of God is presenting its annual Christmas Concert on December 3 at 4:00 p.m. The Chancel Choir presenting the cantata, “O Come, O Come Emmanuel,” and the Hands of Grace drama team will present the nativity and dramas. The evening concludes with a visit from Santa and treat bags will be given to all. Pastor Harris and congregation invite you to attend an evening of Christmas with the church.

    Chicken and dressing meals by Wheeler Addition

    Wheeler Addition Church of God Youth are selling lunches on Wednesday, December 6. On the menu are chicken and dressing, gravy, green beans, potato salad, cranberry sauce, and roll for $7 per plate.
