Parents of kindergarten students attending Pikeville Elementary are invited to come meet teachers: Cynde Perry, Christy Borgialli, Cassie Miller and Chrissy Brown; and Principal James Ellis. Hear about the phase in schedule for your child, new routines, paperwork, expectations, question and answer time. Your child does not have to attend.     Nine Mile Fire Co. has 127 Yard Sale spaces

    The Nine Mile Fire Co. is renting spaces for the 127 Yard Sale for Friday, August 3 and Saturday, August 4. Spaces are $10 for an outside spot and $20 to be under the pavilion.     Clothes closet at Winesap Free Will Baptist

    On Saturday, August 4, Winesap Free Will Baptist Church will open its clothes closet from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The clothes closet will be open every first and third Saturday of each month until further notice. Anyone needing clothes or who knows someone who does can come by at this time. The church will have nice clothes for work, play and dress of all sizes at no charge. The church is located on Lantana Road (Hwy. 101) at the Bledsoe-Cumberland county line.     The Bargain Basement Thrift Store at Pikeville United Methodist Church is open the first Saturday and third Thursday of each month. Hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Donations are accepted during those hours. It is also open from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. during Open Table. The store has clothing and household items for a very reasonable price. It is also a good place to take good usable items you no longer want.     Join the Bledsoe County Rescue Squad on the bypass in Pikeville for a country breakfast on Saturday, August 4 from 6:00 to 10:00 a.m. Enjoy sausage, country ham, fried bologna, bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, biscuits, gravy and drinks all for $6 per plate. Proceeds benefit the operations of the Bledsoe County Rescue Squad.BS31

    Luminary-Frostbite VFD holding fund raiser lunch

    On the first Saturday in August, a fund raiser lunch is being held at Luminary-Frostbite Volunteer Fire Department, located at 13002 Summer City Road in Spring City. The August 4 lunch is from noon to 3 p.m. EDT and includes one meat, two vegetables, one side item, bread, dessert and a beverage. Proceeds help support the department and community center activities. Everyone is invited.BS31
