    On February 4, Pikeville Thrift & Lifestyle Center is hosting an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 38907 SR 30, Pikeville. This is a non-profit organization created to supply the community with life’s daily necessities including clothes, household items, toys, health items and more at deeply discounted prices. Stop smoking, addiction prevention, healthy cooking, crafts, money management, weight management, disaster planning, and more.     Master Gardener class offered

    The University of Tennessee Extension Sequatchie County and the University of Tennessee–Tennessee State University Extension in Bledsoe County is offering an Extension Master Gardener Intern Class this winter. The fee for the class is $150, and classes are being held Tuesdays and Thursdays, February 7- March 19, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at UT-TSU Extension Bledsoe County office, 3150 Main Street Suite 100, Pikeville.     Speaker for Black History Month announced

    The Sons of the Confederate Veterans invite the public to its meeting on February 7 at 6:00 p.m. at Cold Springs Baptist Church, US Highway 127 north of Pikeville. They are celebrating Black History Month and guest speakers are Constance and Michael Willingham, Sr. They are giving a presentation on Black History from this area and their family.     Monagram Mondays at Extension

    The University of Tennessee Extension Bledsoe County holding a series of courses called Monogram Mondays where participants are taught how to utilize a vinyl cutting machine, with a Cricut machine being used during the workshops. The first workshop on self-adhesive vinyl is February 11th from noon to 3 p.m. at the UT-TSU Extension office. Participants will make take home projects such as a monogrammed charger plate and a cake carrier. The second workshop features heat transfer vinyl and glass etching is on February 18th from 5 to 8 p.m. Participants are asked to bring their own solid color T-shirt to put a pocket-sized white monogram on. The third workshop on vinyl signs is March 11th from 5 to 8 p.m. The cost of each workshop is $20 per participant. Call 447-2451 today to sign up as space is limited.B5-6S6
