The Luminary-Frostbite Volunteer Fire Department is serving a chicken dinner on Saturday, October 7 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Choose from fried chicken, meatloaf, ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, dressing, vegetables, deviled eggs, rolls, chicken noodle soup, dessert and drink for $6 per plate for adults, children eat for $3. On Saturday, October 7, Winesap Free Will Baptist Church will open its clothes closet from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The clothes closet will be open every first and third Saturday of each month until further notice. Anyone needing clothes or who knows someone who does can come by at this time. The Tennessee Society Daughters of the American Revolution has named Elizabeth Robnett as a Tennessee Treasure. She is being recognized for her contribution to preserve the history and genealogy of Bledsoe County natives and their descendants. On Saturday, October 21, the Sequatchie Valley NSDAR is hosting a ceremony in her honor at Pikeville United Methodist Church beginning at 1:00 p.m. A small reception will follow the program. All family, friends, former colleagues and former students are invited to attend and congratulate her on this honor.
