    Whitaker to lead Gospel Meeting at Mt. Vernon

    A Gospel Meeting at the Church of Christ at Mt. Vernon, 7518 Brockdell Road, Pikeville is being held October 15-18 with Bro. Chris Whitaker as the speaker. Sunday morning services start at 11:00 a.m. and the evening services are at 7:00 p.m. Be their guest and fill your heart with the Word. A meal is being served following the Sunday morning service.

    Cattleman's Association to meet

    The Bledsoe County Cattlemen’s Association is meeting Thursday, October 19, at 6:00 p.m. at the Bledsoe County Middle School in Pikeville. The meeting is sponsored by the Bledsoe County Soil Conservation District. Rodney Breeding with USDA Natural Resources Service with be discussing programs and information regarding the NRCS and the Bledsoe Soil Conservation District. Anyone interested is welcome to attend. A meal will be provided. Please call the UT Bledsoe Extension Office at 447-2451 to confirm attendance so proper food arrangements can be made. B42

    Robnett to be honored as a Tennessee Treasure

    The Tennessee Society Daughters of the American Revolution has named Elizabeth Robnett as a Tennessee Treasure. She is being recognized for her contribution to preserve the history and genealogy of Bledsoe County natives and their descendants. On Saturday, October 21, the Sequatchie Valley NSDAR is hosting a ceremony in her honor at Pikeville United Methodist Church beginning at 1:00 p.m. A small reception will follow the program. All family, friends, former colleagues and former students are invited to attend and congratulate her on this honor.

    Grand Ole Gospel Singing on October 21

    Come to the beautiful Sequatchie Valley on October 21 for a Grand Ole Gospel Singing featuring The Joyaires from Harriman, the Agee Family from Pikeville and the Way of the Cross Church Choir from Dunlap. The singing begins at 2:00 p.m. at the home of Bro. Freddie and Patsy Savage, 256 Brea Road in Dunlap. Food is provided by the Lee Station Baptist Church with proceeds benefiting the House of Hope.
