    Chili fundraiser planned for PVFD

    The Pikeville Volunteer Fire Department is having a chili fundraiser on Sunday, March 10 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. for $7 per plate. All proceeds benefit the fire department. Eat-in or take out available. The fire department is located at 87 Municipal Drive, adjacent to the new city hall. Call 447-6222 for more information. B10

    Band Clinic planned

    The first Sequatchie Valley Small Band Clinic will be held Friday and Saturday, March 15-16 at Sequatchie County Middle School for bands from Bledsoe, Whitwell, South Pittsburg and Sequatchie. Registration and orientation begin Friday at 4:00 p.m., followed by rehearsals with clinicians at 5:00, pizza at 7:00, a concert by TTU Tuba Ensemble at 8:00, and dismissal at 9:00. Saturday’s schedule is rehearsal at 9:00 a.m., lunch at noon, rehearsals from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., dinner at 4:00, final rehearsal at 5:00, and a concert in the high school auditorium at 7:00. Admission is free to both concerts. BT11

    Wild Game Dinner set for March 16

    On Saturday, March 16, the 14th Men on Missions Wild Game Dinner is being held in the Family Ministry Center at First Southern Baptist Church, 2827 Main Street in Pikeville. Vendors are set up from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. and the meal is being served at 6:00 p.m. Get your tickets today and enjoy a spread of wild game delights, various vendors, assortment of prizes to be given away, and guest speaker Mark Ledford from Ohio. He’s hunted everything from alligators to monster bucks, plus some fishing too. Tickets are available at the church and Sells Building Supply in Pikeville for $15 each or a table of eight for $110 or a table of 10 for $130 before March 10. After that the prices increase. Seating is limited so get yours today. For more information call the church at (423) 447-2849. Proceeds raised go to Men’s on Missions projects.
