    SETHRA commodities distribution planned

    The Southeast Tennessee Human Resource Agency is distributing USDA commodities to eligible Bledsoe County residents on Friday, June 1, 2018, from noon until 4:00 p.m. at the Community Complex/Fairgrounds in Pikeville. You must have a card in order to receive commodities on this day. You can call the office at 447-2444 to make an appointment to get a card until Friday, May 25. All you have to provide is proof of income for all household members to get your commodity card. Eligibility will be based on total household income not in excess of the State-established maximum percentage of the poverty line for the appropriate household size, or category eligibility.B21S22

    Location change for Gray benefit

    A benefit breakfast for Cyrus Gray, accidentally burned when a fire exploded outside his home, will be Saturday, June 2nd, from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. EST at Community Baptist Church Life Care Center. The Center is on Summer City Road, Pikeville, 37367. Cyrus has second and third degree burns on over 40 percent of his little body. He has undergone many surgeries and has a long road aheaad. All donations go to Cyrus and his family.BS20-21

    Reading and Rocking at the Bledsoe Library

         The Bledsoe County Public Library’s summer reading program “Libraries Rock” will kick-off Thursday, June 7 at 1:00 p.m. with Joyce Carroll and friends at the library. Sign up anytime. To complete the program you must read or listen to 10 books during the summer. As a special incentive, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville is giving free admission to those children up to age 18 who finish the reading program. The tickets are regularly $15.95 to $25.95 to visit the hall of fame and museum. End of summer road trip anyone? On Wednesday, July 25 the library will have a show featuring Kevin Kidd from Nashville and his musical dancing team for those who complete the program. The library will close at noon on June 7, the day of the kick-off, and re-open around 3:00 p.m. for regular library business. Call 447-2817 or email cknightbcpl@bledsoe.net for more information.
