    Paws and Claws to meet

    Paws and Claws Animal Shelter is having its monthly membership meeting on Thursday, February 8 at the Bledsoe Telephone Cooperative Training Center on Cumberland Avenue in Pikeville. Everyone is invited to the meeting beginning at 6:00 p.m. Come meet with them and help them to build an animal shelter for the Sequatchie Valley area. B5S6

    Big country breakfast at Veterans Hall

    Members of American Legion Post 66 and VFW Post 5033 will have a big country breakfast Saturday, February 10 from 7:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the Veterans Hall in Pikeville. Come out and enjoy biscuits and gravy, ham, sausage, bacon, eggs, potatoes, tomatoes, coffee, milk and juice for a donation going towards the maintenance and upkeep of the facility.     Sign-up for youth baseball and softball

    Registration for the Bledsoe County Youth Baseball and Softball is being held February 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Ballpark. If weather is bad, the sign-ups will be moved to Pikeville Elementary. Children interested in playing T-Ball, baseball or softball are encouraged to sign-up.     Chili Cook-off at Luminary-Frostbite Fire Dept.

    On Saturday, February 10, the Luminary-Frostbite Volunteer Fire Department, located at 13002 Summer City Road in Spring City, is hosting a Chili Cook-off from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST. There is a $5 entry fee for the chili cookers, and $7 fee per person for all you can eat diners. Trophies are to be awarded for first and second place winners. Diners can choose the winners by scoring the cookers’ chili. Proceeds raised help support the department and community-supporting activities. Everyone is invited.BS6

    PUMC Women have chocolates for Valentines
