Lusk Volunteer Fire Department is selling BBQ plates with fixings for $8.00 on September 7th from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Lusk Community Center. Paws and Claws Animal Shelter monthly meeting will be Thursday Sept 13th at the Bledsoe Telephone Co-op Meeting Room. The meeting room is located on Cumberland Ave in Pikeville. Our meetings start at 6:00pm. Everyone is invited to attend. Please come by, meet us and maybe help us build an animal shelter for the Sequatchie Valley area.

The Bledsoe County High School Class of 1989 is planning its 30 year class reunion. The reunion is being held on Saturday, September 21, at the Pikeville Municipal Building. It will start at 5:00 p.m. with the City of Pikeville Fire Department catering the dinner. The cost per person is $20. The deadline for reservations is September 1. The Pendergrass family reunion is being held at the home of Greg and Brenda Anderson on Saturday, September 21. Please bring a covered dish and join them for the meal beginning at noon. Drinks and paper products will be provided.BT38

A Hunter Education Class is being held September 24, September 26, October 1, and October 3 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Rigsby Elementary. A Field Day is being held October 5 beginning at 9:00 a.m. A Hunter Education certification is required for anyone born after January 1, 1969 who wishes to hunt in Tennessee. Students must be at least nine years old at the start of the class to be eligible to participate. Attendance is required on all dates in order to be certified. Online registration at tn.gov.twra is preferred, but if student has no internet access he/she may enroll at the first session. The Bledsoe County GOP is holding its monthly meeting on Saturday, September 28 at Griffith Volunteer Fire Department, 5619 Griffith Road, beginning at 4:00 p.m. Special speaker is the Honorable Justin Angel, Circuit Court Judge for the 12th Judicial District. He is speaking on the United States Constitution. All Bledsoe County Constitutional Conservatives are encouraged to come and enjoy pizza and fellowship with fellow Republicans. Drinks are provided.
