Pikeville Elementary Kindergarten parent meeting
Pikeville Elementary is hosting a Kindergarten parent meeting on Thursday, August 2 at 6:00 p.m. in the school’s cafeteria. Nine Mile Fire Co. has 127 Yard Sale spaces
The Nine Mile Fire Co. is renting spaces for the 127 Yard Sale for Friday, August 3 and Saturday, August 4. Spaces are $10 for an outside spot and $20 to be under the pavilion. Anyone with classic, special interest, ATVs, truck and tractors are invited to bring their ride and come be a part of the Cruise-In in downtown Pikeville on Saturday, August 4. On the first Saturday in August, a fund raiser lunch is being held at Luminary-Frostbite Volunteer Fire Department, located at 13002 Summer City Road in Spring City. The August 4 lunch is from noon to 3 p.m. EDT and includes one meat, two vegetables, one side item, bread, dessert and a beverage. The Bargain Basement Thrift Store at Pikeville United Methodist Church is open the first Saturday and third Thursday of each month. Hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Donations are accepted during those hours. It is also open from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. during Open Table. The store has clothing and household items for a very reasonable price. It is also a good place to take good usable items you no longer want. Breakfast at Mt. Crest Fire Hall on August 18
Mt. Crest Volunteer Fire Department is holding its monthly breakfast on Saturday, August 18 from 6:00 to 10:00 a.m. The fire department is open on Friday, August 17 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for donations. All proceeds go towards the upkeep of the fire hall, gas, equipment used during a fire or setting up for emergency helicopter landings.

The 35th Infantry Division and 10th Kompanie Gross Deutschland Division living history groups are teaming up with the Bledsoe County Library on Cumberland Avenue on Saturday, August 25, for the third annual History Timeline. The theme is “open” which means the indoor/outdoor displays, demonstrations and reenactors dress covers different eras of military history. This fun and educational presentation is from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
