Lee Station Church of God is presenting its annual Christmas concert on December 2 at 4:00 p.m. The Chancel Choir is presenting the Colors of Christmas and The Hands of Grace Drama Team, the nativity and dramas. The evening concludes with a visit from Santa and treat bags for all. Pastor Harris and congregation invite you to attend an evening of Christmas with them.BTS47-48

The Bledsoe County Fair Association invites you to its monthly meeting on December 4 at the Fairgrounds beginning at 5:30 p.m. They are seeking civic-minded individuals who are interested in the Fair Board and willing to share ideas for future events and endeavors. They will be serving light refreshments and hope to see you there to hear your ideas for the community.BS46-48

A representative with Legal Aid of East Tennessee (LAET) is going to be conducting client intake interview sessions at the Bledsoe County Courthouse on Thursday, December 6 at 11:00 a.m. Legal Aid of East Tennessee is a free service for low income Tennesseans and senior Tennesseans with civil legal problems including consumer, housing, veterans benefits and government benefits issues such as food stamps, unemployment benefits, and TennCare. Come have your pictures made with Santa Claus on December 7 from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. in the Bledsoe County Nursing Home dining room. Bring your own phone, camera, etc. and snap away. This is a special time for the residents as they get to see all the small children coming to visit Santa Claus. For questions please call Sharla Harris at (423) 447-5388. The Southeast Tennessee Human Resource Agency is distributing USDA commodities to eligible Bledsoe County residents on Friday, December 7, from noon to 4:00 p.m. at the Community Complex at the fairgronds in Pikeville. You must have a card in order to receive commodities on this day. B48S49

The Bledsoe County Republican Party is having its annual Christmas party on Friday evening, December 7 at the Bledsoe County Senior Citizens Center beginning at 6:00 p.m. All Bledsoe County Republicans are urged to come fellowship as they celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Please bring a covered dish and/or a dessert. Ham and turkey are provided. Donations for the Sheriff’s Department Toys for Tots program are being accepted. Please bring an unwrapped toy for a child, ages newborn to 2 years old. Donations for the area Food Bank are going to be accepted too. Needed are toiletry items such as shampoo, soap, deodorant, toilet paper and more.

A Christmas Auction is being held on December 8 at West End Church of God’s Family Life Center beginning at 6:00 p.m. Food is being served starting at 5:00 p.m. Crafts, Christmas decor, numerous Western items, household items, baked goods and candy are just a few of the items. Walden’s Ridge Community Center presents the third annual Youth Talent Show on Saturday, December 8 at 5:00 p.m. EST. Children, ages 16 and under, are invited to compete for prizes: first place, $150; second place, $75; and third place, $50. Admission is $5 per person. On Wednesday, December 12 at 6:00 p.m. the Mt. Crest United Methodist Church, 32979 SR30 West of Pikeville will have a Live Nativity. Come enjoy the children’s Christmas program after the Live Nativity which includes carols, Wesley and Joyce, and a special appearance by Santa. Hot cocoa, cider and cookies to be served. All kids, grades 1 through 8, are invited to join Mt. Crest United Methodist Church for a fun afternoon of creative Christmas crafting. The class is December 14 from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. at the church, located next to Wheeler Elementary. Make crafts for yourself, for gifts, and for decorating. There is no cost to you.

Sampson Free Will Baptist Church invites everyone to join them Thursday, December 20 at 6 p.m. for A Christmas Rapture.  You don’t want to miss it. Refreshments to follow. B50S51

Second Chance Pet Group volunteers are waiting for calls on its spay and neuter help line. The Pikeville and Dunlap scheduling procedures have changed. Call 554-4442 to discuss your pet’s needs. Leave your name, phone number, best time to return your call, and what service you need. Volunteers will call you and schedule your appointments. If you are blocking private callers, they will not be able to reach you. The organization has been assisting the communities for the last seven years. B38S39
