The Bledsoe County Veteran’s office will be closed September 6 and 7. The office will reopen on Friday, September 8. B36

All hunters born on or after January 1, 1969 and are at least 10 years of age must successfully complete a Hunter Education course before they can hunt in Tennessee. A course is scheduled from September 11-16 (no class on Wednesday) from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Bledsoe County Rescue Squad building. Saturday’s class starts at 8:00 a.m. To register on line go to tnwildlife.org and under the hunting section, look for Hunter Education and register for the class. Everyone is invited to attend the Paws and Claws Animal Shelter membership meeting on September 14 at Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative’s meeting room in Dunlap. The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. Come meet them and help them work to build an animal shelter for the Sequatchie Valley. BT36S37

You are invited to a benefit for Beverly Osborne for medial expenses at the Summer City Baptist Church Community Center on Saturday, September 23 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. EST. They are having a pig roast with baked beans, coleslaw, dessert and beverage for a minimum donation of $10 per plate.BS38

The Dill School Reunion is Saturday, September 23 from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m., with a covered dish dinner served at 5:00 p.m. Join old friends, remember your school days and make new friends while supporting your community. The DeBord family reunion is being held at the Bledsoe Telephone Cooperative Training Center, 338 Cumberland Avenue in Pikeville. Make plans to celebrate and renew family ties. Legal Aid of East Tennessee is conducting local client intake at the Bledsoe County Courthouse on Wednesday, September 27 beginning at 11:00 a.m. This is a free service for low income and senior Tennesseans with civil legal problems including consumer, housing, veteran’s benefits, and government benefits issues such as food stamps, unemployment benefits, and TennCare. Bledsoe Senior Center hosts essential oils program

The Bledsoe County Senior Citizens Center on Frazier Street in Pikeville is hosting a program on The History of Essential Oils with Gail Francis from Knoxville. The educational program is Friday, September 29 at the Center at 1:00 p.m.B39

The Historical Lincoln School in Pikeville is having its monthly last Saturday of the month singing on September 30 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Admission is $2.50 per person to benefit the school.
