On Sunday, July 16, New Hope Baptist Church is having its annual Homecoming with services beginning at 10:00 a.m. Elder Chris Boggs and Elder Ronald Patterson are going to preach during the morning service.

Attention all parents, teachers and mental health professionals: a two-day workshop on Sensory Processing Disorder is being held at the Bledsoe County Senior Citizens Center, 148 Frazier Street in Pikeville, on Monday and Tuesday, July 17-18. The University of Tennessee Extension is sponsoring financial record keeping training sessions for nurseries and small businesses. The record keeping software taught at the seminar is QuickBooks Premier 2017. This is also an opportunity for people to learn about QuickBooks Pro since both of these software programs are similar. The training sessions are July 17-18 at the Bledsoe County Extension Office; in McMinnville at the TSU Nursery Research Station on July 20-21; and in Grundy County Extension Office on July 27-28 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the first day and finish about noon on the second day. The cost of the training session will be $50 per company (for one representative) and an additional $25 for each additional participant. On Friday and Saturday, July 21-22, a large yard sale for Mt. Crest Church of God of Prophecy, about half-mile from Little Mountain Video, is being held. Lots of items from dishes to pots and pans and more. Proceeds raised benefit the church. B29

Paws and Claws Animal Shelter (501c3 non-profit) is now accepting donations of good items to sell at the annual 127 Yard Sale. No clothes or shoes. Nine Mile Volunteer Fire Co. is hosting the Trackside Band in concert on July 22 at 7:00 p.m. Food begins at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $5 at the gate and food is available for $5. Meal includes grilled chicken and a choice of two sides, roll and drink. All proceeds benefit the Nine Mile Volunteer Fire Co.

Lusk Community Center is hosting a Big Country Breakfast with various trimmings on Saturday, July 22, from to 6:30-10:00 a.m. Proceeds go toward cost of utilities and yard/building maintenance. On Saturday, July 22, Fall Creek Falls Fire Department is hosting a breakfast from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the fire hall located at 24897 State Route 30 west of Pikeville. This country breakfast includes biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, pancakes, fruit, hashbrown potatoes, bacon, sausage, country ham, fried bologna, orange juice, coffee, and milk for $6 per plate. Proceeds benefit the department’s operations.2BS28-29

The Bledsoe County Republican Party is having a pancake breakfast on Saturday, July 22 at the Bledsoe County Senior Center on Frazier Street in Pikeville beginning at 7:00 a.m. A meeting is to follow. Breakfast is being prepared by the Bledsoe County Republican Women’s Club and will cost $6 per plate. All proceeds go to the annual scholarship fund. All area Republicans are encouraged to attend.
