Pikeville Mayor Philip “Winki” Cagle was re-elected to his position Saturday, December 7, receiving 219 votes to challenger JoAnn Britt’s 126 votes. Summer reading winding down

The summer reading program ends July 17 with a performance by Kevin Kidd and Company at 1:00 p.m. at Nickel Row Music Hall on Main Street in Pikeville. An ice cream party follows across the street at Ember’s Ice Cream Shoppe which is sponsored by Belinda Ault. Readers must complete the program by reading or listening to ten books to attend the final parties. It is not too late for kids to sign up for the summer reading program if they can find time to participate.
