Bledsoe County to receive buses from VW Settlement

Bledsoe County Schools were selected to receive five new diesel school buses from the Volkswagen Diesel Settlement Environmental Mitigation Trust, the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation announced today.     The first Sequatchie Valley Small Band Clinic will be held Friday and Saturday, March 15-16 at Sequatchie County Middle School for bands from Bledsoe, Whitwell, South Pittsburg and Sequatchie. Registration and orientation begin Friday at 4:00 p.m., followed by rehearsals with clinicians at 5:00, pizza at 7:00, a concert by TTU Tuba Ensemble at 8:00, and dismissal at 9:00. Saturday’s schedule is rehearsal at 9:00 a.m., lunch at noon, rehearsals from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., dinner at 4:00, final rehearsal at 5:00, and a concert in the high school auditorium at 7:00.     On Saturday, March 16, the 14th Men on Missions Wild Game Dinner is being held in the Family Ministry Center at First Southern Baptist Church, 2827 Main Street in Pikeville. Vendors are set up from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. and the meal is being served at 6:00 p.m. Get your tickets today and enjoy a spread of wild game delights, various vendors, assortment of prizes to be given away, and guest speaker Mark Ledford from Ohio. He’s hunted everything from alligators to monster bucks, plus some fishing too.
